About Us

Dunmow & Braintree Taekwon-Do is a fully inclusive Martial Arts Club that welcomes individuals of all ages and abilities. With a vibrant membership, our club fosters a sense of community and provides a supportive environment for everyone. Our diverse student base ranges from 4 to 65+ years old, with many families training together.

Since our establishment in January 2020 with just three students, we have witnessed remarkable growth. Even during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, we embraced social media as a means to stay connected and expand our reach. Our commitment to excellence paid off, as in 2023, we proudly achieved Gold Medals in every National Competition. As a testament to our dedication, Dunmow & Braintree Taekwon-Do has been honored with a nomination for Sports Club of the Year by Active Essex. We are thrilled to have gained recognition for our achievements and look forward to the exciting future ahead.

What We Offer

Mixed Classes

With a vibrant membership ranging from 4 to 65+, we pride ourselves on offering a mixed class environment where anyone aged 6+ can join, regardless of their ability. We encourage siblings and families to train together, fostering a supportive and inclusive community. Our students progress through the TAGB grading process, with the ultimate aim of achieving their black belt.

Competitions

We proudly represent our region in up to six National & Regional competitions each year, giving our students the opportunity to showcase their patterns and sparring skills.

Our track record speaks for itself, as we have consistently won gold medals in every competition entered and recently claimed the 2023 South East Interclub Shield in its first gathering since the pandemic.

Tigers Classes

We offer a range of products at Dunmow & Braintree Taekwon-Do that cater to all ages and abilities.

Our specially designed classes for 5-9 year olds, known as Tigers, combine fun games with Taekwondo activities. Tigers are encouraged to learn at their own pace while still having the opportunity to grade and participate in competitions.

We are proud of our proven track record in assisting children with Dispraxia, Physical Impairment, ADHD and Autistic Spectrum issues.
